We’ll take you through the installation process one step at a time for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia. It’s quick, easy and completely free to install.
WhatsApp for Iphone
To be able to download WhatsApp, your iPhone needs to be running iOS 4.3 or higher (if not, you should be able to update your version of iOS in the iTunes App Store). You will download and install WhatsApp just like you would for any other game or application. Go to the App Store on your iPhone and search for “whatsapp”, and the first result should be the official version of WhatsApp. Click on it to see more information, and then click “Install” and wait until you receive the “download complete” notification.
Installing Whatsapp on your iPhone is very similar to installing on Android. You can just go to App Store and type “Whatsapp” in the search bar, then tap “install” and wait for the application to download. Then just enter your phone number and wait for the verification code, add your name and profile picture, and get chatting! One important note: Whatsapp is only compatible with devices that have a phone number, and for that reason it won’t work on iPad or other tablets. You can find tutorials online with workarounds for this issue, but they are a bit complicated and not guaranteed
Install WhatsApp for Android
If you have an Android OS phone, such as a newer Samsung smartphone, Sony, LG, HTC, etc. your version of Android OS needs to be 2.1 or higher. You will find WhatsApp in the Google Play Store just like you would any other app. In the Play Store, search for “whatsapp” and tap the first result to see details and the option to download. Then, simply tap “install”, and wait for the download to finish.
It is really easy to download Whatsapp on your Android phone. You can go to the Google Play Store and search for it under applications, or you can go to the “top applications” tab. When you find it, all you have to do is click on the “install” button to begin downloading WhatsApp to your Android. After it is installed, you just need to enter your phone number and WhatsApp will send a verification code to that number. In most cases, Whatsapp will detect the code in the SMS message automatically; if not, you will need to enter it manually to complete your account setup. After that, you will be asked to add your name so your contacts can find you easily, as well as an optional profile picture and status if you want.
Whatsapp for Blackberry
Your BlackBerry needs to be running OS 4.7 or higher in order to support the WhatsApp installation. You can find WhatsApp easily in BlackBerry World, either by searching for it under “apps” or in their “top free apps”. Either way, all you need to do is click “download” and wait for the notification that WhatsApp has finished downloading.
Install WhatsApp for Nokia
People still hanging onto their old Nokia phones (those things last forever, don’t they?) will be happy to learn that WhatsApp is supported on Nokia 40 Series and Nokia 60 Series. These would include various models of Nokia S40-Asha, Nokia S60-Symbian, S60 5th Edition and S60 3rd Edition, as well as a few older Samsung and Sony phones that use Symbian OS instead of Android.
Your version of Symbian OS should be either Symbian^3, Symbian Anna or Symbian Belle in order to install WhatsApp, and you also need an unlimited internet data plan on your phone. There’s no real app store to download WhatsApp from, so you’ll have to use the web browser on your phone to link directly to the download page.
Although WhatsApp is easily the most popular instant messaging application available today, there are some features that users would like to have more control over. For example, the original WhatsApp application has only recently added the ability to customize themes, and customizing fonts is still very limited.
Other users want some additional privacy and security measures that aren’t available in the original WhatsApp application. In order to improve upon the world’s favorite communication app, independent developers came out with an enhanced version of the application they called WhatsApp Plus.
Features of WhatsApp Plus
On WhatsApp Plus, you have essentially all of the same features you had with the original, official WhatsApp. You can still send free text messages, multimedia messages, make voice calls, etc. all over a Wi-Fi connection. WhatsApp Plus has kept the framework largely intact, so it feels a lot like the WhatsApp you are already comfortable with. What they have enhanced is the details.
Before these options became available in recent updates of the official WhatsApp app, WhatsApp Plus gave users the option to download personalized themes, change font styles, and hide their online/offline status as well as disable the “read” check mark on messages. Now that these options are available on the official application in some capacity, what really sets WhatsApp Plus apart is the unique way it compresses multimedia files so that you can send them without resizing them.
How to Download WhatsApp Plus
Since WhatsApp Plus in unofficial, installing it is a little tricky. Here are the steps you need to follow in order to download whatsapp plus successfully: First, back up all of your conversations, shared media, etc. in WhatsApp by going to your WhatsApp settings, selecting “Chat Settings” and then doing an immediate backup of your chats. Once the backup is finished, you are going to uninstall WhatsApp from your device. This procedure will be a little different depending on your device – just follow the normal procedure for uninstalling an application on your device.
Install WhatsApp Plus files
Next, use your device to find the WhatsApp Plus file compatible with your device. For example, Android users will look online for the WhatsApp Plus APK file, and iPhone users will search for WhatsApp Plus ipa file. When you have found a download link on a trustworthy site, click on it to start downloading the WhatsApp Plus application file directly to your mobile phone. Open the file when the download is complete to continue with installation and setup.
If your device prompts you for permission to install WhatsApp Plus, tap “ok” or “accept” until you are taken to the screen to enter your mobile phone number. From here, setting up WhatsApp Plus is just like setting up an official WhatsApp account, complete with verification code sent to your mobile number. After WhatsApp Plus has verified your phone number, you’ll be taken to a screen that asks if you want to restore any conversations you have backed up.
This is the same screen you would see if you wanted to switch your official WhatsApp account to a new device. Select “Restore”, and all of the conversations that you backed up in the first step will be restored to your new WhatsApp Plus application. Your WhatsApp Plus account is up and running, so go ahead and explore the new options that are available to you.
Everybody knows that WhatsApp is the best instant messenger app to have installed on your smartphone these days. Nearly 600 million people all over the world are using WhatsApp to send free text messages, picture messages, video messages, and make free voice calls to anywhere in the world over a Wi-Fi connection. Really, the only downside to WhatsApp has been that it is only compatible on mobile phones because it requires a phone number to create an account
WhatsApp for PC
Luckily, the development team at WhatsApp has been listening to what their users want and recently came out with a version of WhatsApp that can be used on your PC or Mac computer: WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp Web is a web client version of the mobile application that you know and love, and it’s compatible with Microsoft and Mac computers.
This means that you don’t have to worry about missing any WhatsApp messages when your phone is turned off or in another room as long as you’re logged in to your WhatsApp Web account on your PC.
Features of WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web has most of the same features as the mobile version of the application. You can send unlimited text and multimedia messages using your internet connection with WhatsApp web instead of sending expensive SMS messages from your cellular provider or using up your limited mobile data plan.
Your contacts, messages and media files sync automatically between your smartphone and computer account so you never miss a beat. And once you have logged in to WhatsApp Web on your home computer, you won’t have to log in every time you want to see your messages; just like on your smartphone, you are always logged in unless you manually log out. Best of all, WhatsApp Web is completely free with your mobile WhatsApp subscription.
How to Download WhatsApp Web
Installing WhatsApp Web is not exactly complicated, but it’s an unusual installation process, so we’re going to walk you through it step by step.
Important note: as of this writing, WhatsApp is citing difficulties with the iOS operating system that are preventing iPhones from being compatible with WhatsApp Web. Although the web client is compatible with Safari on Mac computers, the iPhone WhatsApp account running on iOS is currently not compatible with the installation and sync process. Hopefully they will find a solution to this problem very soon.First, if you don’t already have WhatsApp on your mobile phone, you need to download that first. As we mentioned earlier, your WhatsApp Web account is not an independent account but is actually linked to your existing mobile WhatsApp account. Without the mobile version installed on your smartphone, you won’t be able to install WhatsApp Web on your computer.
On this screen, you should find a QR code (the white checkerboard with a random pattern of tiny black and white squares). You’re going to use a special WhatsApp QR scanner on your mobile phone to link your new WhatsApp Web account to your existing mobile account. If you have a separate QR scanner app on your phone, don’t use it for this – it needs to be done inside WhatsApp to work. To access the WhatsApp QR code scanner, open the dropdown menu in WhatsApp (like you were going into your settings, for example), and you should see an option near or at the bottom of the menu that says “WhatsApp Web”. If this option isn’t in your menu, you might need to update your version of WhatsApp or you might be using an incompatible device like iPhone.
Select WhatsApp-Web to go to the quick response code QR scanner page. Now, just hold your phone up to your computer screen to scan the QR code and wait for your computer to respond. When the code has been scanned correctly, your computer should ask you if you want to Download WhatsApp Web. From here on out, installing WhatsApp on your PC or Mac will look just like any other application you install on your computer, and you just have to follow the onscreen instructions to finish the installation and setup process.
Using WhatsApp Web
You can access your WhatsApp messages, contacts, pictures and videos anytime you want by going to web.whatsapp.com. After the initial setup, you won’t have to scan the QR code again and you won’t have to log in every time you want to see your messages.
